Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Cryptoplanets marketplace at exoplanetary.systems (the "Service"), operated by Exoplanetary Systems, Inc. ("we", "us", or "our"). By using the Service you agree to these Terms.

1. What Cryptoplanets Is

Cryptoplanets is a marketplace for non-fungible tokens (NFTs) representing confirmed exoplanets drawn from publicly available astronomical data. Each token is unique and corresponds to one real exoplanet in the NASA Exoplanet Archive. Purchasing a token gives you provable ownership of that token on the Polygon blockchain. It does not grant any rights to name, claim, or otherwise assert ownership of the actual celestial body.

2. Eligibility

• You must be at least 18 years old to make a purchase.
• You must have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement.
• The Service is not available where prohibited by local law.

3. Wallets and Transactions

To purchase an NFT you need a compatible cryptocurrency wallet (such as MetaMask) funded with POL on the Polygon network. You are solely responsible for the security of your wallet and private keys. We have no ability to recover lost wallets, reverse transactions, or retrieve tokens sent to incorrect addresses.

All purchases are executed as smart contract transactions on the Polygon blockchain. Blockchain transactions are final and irreversible. Please verify all details before confirming a transaction.

4. Pricing and Fees

Prices are denominated in POL (Polygon's native currency) and displayed on each planet's listing. Network gas fees are separate and paid directly to Polygon validators — we do not collect or control gas fees.

Prices may change at any time for unsold tokens. The price shown at the time you initiate a transaction is the price you pay.

5. Auctions

Auction bids are binding commitments. The highest bidder at close of auction is obligated to complete the purchase. If a transaction fails due to wallet or network error after a winning bid, we will make reasonable efforts to resolve the situation but cannot guarantee re-auction timing.

6. Intellectual Property

The planet imagery associated with each token was generated by or for Exoplanetary Systems, Inc. and is owned by us. Purchasing an NFT grants you a personal, non-commercial licence to display the associated image. It does not transfer copyright or grant rights to use the image commercially without written permission.

Exoplanet names and discovery data are drawn from the NASA Exoplanet Archive, which is a public resource of the United States government. We make no proprietary claim over astronomical data.

7. No Investment Advice

NFTs are speculative digital assets. We make no representation that any token will retain or increase in value. Do not purchase tokens as a financial investment. Past auction results are not indicative of future value.

8. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of security vulnerabilities. Smart contracts are deployed as-is and while audited to the best of our ability, we cannot guarantee they are free of bugs.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Exoplanetary Systems, Inc. shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including loss of tokens due to wallet compromise, blockchain errors, or service interruption.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. Material changes will be announced via our mailing list and community channels.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
