WASP-93 b is a sizzling hot Jupiter that orbits the star WASP-93, discovered back in 2016 by the SuperWASP project using the transit method. Imagine a gas giant so close to its star that it completes an orbit in just a few days, roasting under intense stellar heat and light. This fiery world was spotted through a ground-based telescope equipped with the iKon-L CCD Camera, which helped astronomers catch its shadow as it passed in front of its star. While it’s far beyond our reach, WASP-93 b offers a fascinating glimpse into the wild diversity of exoplanets, proving that giant planets don’t always have to be icy giants far from their stars—they can be blazing hot, close-in orbs with dramatic atmospheres!
