WASP-7 b is a sizzling hot Jupiter orbiting the star WASP-7 far beyond our solar system. Discovered in 2008 using the transit method by the SuperWASP project, this exoplanet is a true cosmic showstopper. It was spotted from the ground with the clever iKon-L CCD Camera, which helped reveal its presence as it passed in front of its star, causing a tiny dip in the star’s light. Although it orbits extremely close to its host star, making it scorchingly hot and unlikely for life as we know it, WASP-7 b fascinates astronomers with its size and blazing speed. This giant alien world offers a glimpse into the diversity of planets scattered throughout the galaxy, reminding us how adventurous space exploration can be!
