WASP-56 b is a sizzling exoplanet orbiting the star WASP-56, discovered back in 2012 thanks to the clever eyes of the SuperWASP project using the transit method. This giant world reveals itself by passing in front of its star, causing a tiny dip in starlight that telescopes can catch. Though we don’t have a catchy proper name for this hot Jupiter yet, it’s a fascinating example of a gas giant sizzling close to its sun-like star. Discovered from the ground with the trusty iKon-L CCD Camera, WASP-56 b likely sports roaring winds and a scorching atmosphere. It’s a shining reminder of the diverse worlds waiting to be uncovered beyond our own solar system!
