WASP-46 b is a sizzling hot Jupiter orbiting the star WASP-46, discovered back in 2011 by the clever astronomers using the SuperWASP project’s ground-based telescopes equipped with the iKon-L CCD Camera. This exoplanet is a true cosmic flame thrower, circling incredibly close to its star, making it scorchingly hot and quite the extreme world. Thanks to the transit method, scientists catch glimpses of this fiery giant as it passes in front of its star, causing tiny dips in starlight. While it may not have a fancy proper name yet, WASP-46 b definitely knows how to make an entrance with its intense heat and rapid orbit. It’s a fascinating example of a planet living life on the edge, hugging its star tightly in a blaze of cosmic glory!
