WASP-26 b is a sizzling hot Jupiter skimming the skies around its star WASP-26, discovered back in 2010 by the SuperWASP team using the transit method. Imagine a planet so close to its star that it completes an orbit in just a few days, roasting under intense stellar heat and shining with a fierce glow. This cloud-shrouded giant was spotted with the trusty iKon-L CCD Camera, capturing tiny dips in starlight as the planet passed in front of WASP-26 from our viewpoint. While it’s too far to visit just yet, WASP-26 b offers a tantalizing glimpse into the extremes of planetary environments beyond our solar system—a fiery world where day and night are worlds apart in both temperature and wonder.
