WASP-20 b is a lively exoplanet orbiting the star WASP-20, discovered back in 2015 by the SuperWASP project using the nifty transit method, which basically watches for tiny dips in starlight as the planet takes a cosmic stroll across its star’s face. Equipped with the precise iKon-L CCD Camera on the ground, this hot Jupiter-sized world zips close to its star, basking in stellar warmth that makes it a sizzling place far from Earth’s comfort zone. Though we don’t have a fancy proper name for it yet, WASP-20 b’s discovery adds another exciting piece to the puzzle of understanding planets beyond our solar system. It’s a reminder that the universe loves variety and surprises, with worlds waiting to be explored well beyond our backyard!
