TOI-6016 b is a newly discovered exoplanet unveiled in 2024 by the space-based Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite, or TESS for short. This little cosmic gem orbits the star TOI-6016, patiently revealing itself each time it passes in front of its host star, causing a tiny dip in starlight that TESS happily detects with its CCD array. While we don’t yet know its exact distance from Earth or detailed characteristics, TOI-6016 b is a shining example of the exciting new worlds TESS continues to reveal in our galaxy. It’s a fantastic reminder that the universe is full of surprises waiting to be spotted by clever space telescopes and curious minds!
