TOI-5301 b is a newly discovered exoplanet that happily orbits the star TOI-5301, spotted in 2024 thanks to the keen eyes of NASA’s Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite (TESS). This cosmic newcomer revealed itself by gently dimming its star’s light as it passed in front, a method astronomers love called the transit technique. While we don’t have an official nickname for TOI-5301 b yet, it’s certainly making a name for itself in the exoplanetary world. Although we’re not sure exactly how far away it is, this discovery adds another exciting puzzle piece to our understanding of the vast and varied planetary systems out there, reminding us that space is full of surprises ready to be explored!
