TOI-1408 c is a recently discovered exoplanet orbiting the star TOI-1408, unveiled in 2024 thanks to the clever use of Transit Timing Variations by the space-based Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite, or TESS. This cosmic traveler was spotted using TESS’s high-tech CCD array, a kind of celestial camera that watches for tiny wobbles in a star’s light caused by gravitational nudges from orbiting planets. While TOI-1408 c doesn't yet have a catchy nickname, it represents the exciting frontier of space exploration, showing how astronomers can detect distant worlds by the subtle dance they do with their star.
