HR 858 c is a fascinating world orbiting the star HR 858, discovered in 2019 thanks to the keen eye of NASA’s Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite (TESS). Using the clever transit method, TESS spotted this exoplanet as it gracefully passed in front of its host star, dimming the starlight just enough to reveal its presence. Although it doesn't have a catchy proper name yet, HR 858 c is part of a stellar neighborhood where astronomers keep their adventurous spirits alive, searching for new cosmic neighbors. Thanks to TESS’s high-tech CCD array, our understanding of such distant worlds continues to expand, inviting us to dream about what life or landscapes might be like light-years away from Earth.
